Risograph Print - "Circus Rorschach- Video Games on the Train"

$25.00

This is a Risograph print with 4 colors + gold based on the original drawing and collage, “Circus Rorschach - Video Games on the Train” (2022). The imagery is taken from riding the above ground 7 Train in Queens. I love the light coming through the windows, how it frames the riders from different neighborhoods and different cultures. Here, I was peering over people’s shoulders, noticing the games they were playing on their phones and drawing the findings in my sketchbook.

The Risograph machine is from Japan and is like a color copier but is actually a stencil duplicator. It is a cross between screen printing and photocopying. The Riso prints one color at a time in bright colors using little dots made from soy-based inks. The prints are often used for band posters and zines and will fade with excess sunlight.
